About This Course
Nuad Boran (Ancient Thai Bodywork) is a combination of energy work, compression, stretching, and range of motion. The application of Thai massage is rhythmic and meditative and your clients may feel both relaxed and rejuvenated! Thai massage is applied fully clothed on a mat. In this course, you will learn to apply Thai massage techniques in the supine, prone, and seated positions. Thai Massage helps you to:
- Improve range of motion
- Decrease aches and pains
- Prepare for labor and delivery
- Improve muscle pliability
- Overall relaxation
- Prepare and recover from sporting events
- Manage chronic pain
This 16-hour course thoroughly teaches the principles in the art of Nuad Borarn, traditional Thai massage. This course teaches a 90-120 minute Thai massage routine primarily based in the Northern Thailand style. A brief history, philosophy

What To Expect
You won’t want to miss a minute of this 2-day course. Not only will you get the information you need to safely and confidently practice Thai Yoga Massage, but you’ll get plenty of time to have fun! You’ll receive a manual written by Vanessa Hazzard with easy to follow steps (including photos) of her personal Thai Yoga Massage sequences.
Each class begins with a guided movement based centering that flows seamlessly into the day’s lessons. Come in comfy clothes and bring your yoga mats and pillows. You will be receiving and practicing Thai yoga Massage each day.

Vanessa Hazzard, LMT is an author, educator, and massage therapist with 14 years of experience in the massage therapy field. She practices Thai Yoga Massage in Philadelphia, PA. As a practitioner, Vanessa is experienced, and skilled at relieving pain. As a continuing educator, she is thorough and leads fun hands-on classes. She is author of Prenatal Thai Massage: for Relaxation & Pain Relief. Her volunteerism and commitment to mental health and trauma-awareness in yoga and bodywork has landed her features on NPR, Philly.com, and speaking engagements at Drexel University and non-profit organizations. She has also been featured in Massage Today. Vanessa has shared her expertise as an advisory board member for massage therapy schools, as well as Belmont Behavioral Health’s mood disorder program. Over the past decade, she has taught hundreds of massage therapy professionals at spas, wellness centers, conferences, and retreats. Vanessa has attended International Training Massage (ITM) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and has earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Massage Therapy at Siena Heights University. She is currently earning her Master of Education in Adult and Continuing Education from Rutgers University.
